What’s my style? That’s hard to say, but a picture is worth a lot of words. So I will 1) post lots of pictures; and 2) still use a lot of words.

My entire life, my favorite color has been black. There’s something intrinsically strong, unapologetic, and unfussy about the color black. It always works.

Along those lines, I love monochromatic and simple, unfussy color schemes. Calm is always the essence of my aesthetic. If something can agitate or excite by its mere presence, it’s probably not something I want in my wardrobe or my home.

For the past few years, grey has become my color of choice. It has been uber-trendy (although I sense its moment has passed) in designing public spaces, but for me personally, it retains the calmness and certainty of black, while lacking the saturation that can fatigue even the most goth-y of black lovers. (I once had a bathroom that was decorated completely in black–towels, shower curtains, soap dish, everything–it felt like a pit of despair, and I realized that I needed ease up the throttle a bit.)

Alas, my clothing style is nothing to write the webpage about, so I will skip over that piece in the pictures. I took a very strong stand on personal style in high school and college, but retreated into banal jeans-t-shirt-and-polos territory as an adult. I am not at all proud of the fashion non-entity I have become. Any strong sartorial choice comes with an explanation tax that I don’t want to pay. So I choose the path of least resistance and save my energy for other things.
