It’s a time of beginnings. The new year is a time to wipe the slate clean and say, “Look Life, I really mean it this time.” In that spirit, I have decided to join the resolution parade this year. My resolution is that if I know something needs to be done and I haven’t been doing it, it’s getting done.
Numerous tasks, pleasures, and duties flit across my mind each day, all shoved aside with an “I don’t have time” or “I need to focus on other things” or “I’m tired.”
Nike had a point. The marketing catchphrase-turned-aphorism “Just Do It” resonates because it’s kinda true. In the time that it takes to justify not doing something, generally one can go ahead and perform the task at hand.
So instead of making an excuse about why I couldn’t blog today, I decided to use this brief time and space to relay something to the blogosphere, even if I may prejudge it to be trite or predictable or shallow.
Because beginnings have to start somewhere. Happy New Year!!
